GLIL won the award for Alternatives Manager of the Year in the Specialist Sector category at the Pensions Age Awards 2024, which celebrate excellence within the UK pensions industry.

This is the second year in a row that GLIL has taken home this award. This year, GLIL was recognised for record activity, including:

  • Continued deployment of capital, £2.3bn since inception, into a growing portfolio of infrastructure assets.
  • Milestone investments in Hornsea 1, the world’s largest operational offshore wind farm, and the 27-mile, dual three-lane carriageway, the M6toll.
  • Long-term commitment to the energy transition through GLIL’s investments in Smart Meter Assets, Cubico Sustainable Investments and Clyde Wind Farm.
  • Commitment to driving the ESG agenda by adapting to the government-backed shift to clean energy and the need for more community-oriented spaces.

Commenting on this success, Ted Frith, Chief Operating Officer at GLIL, said:

“This is an incredibly proud moment for us. This win is a testament to our team’s hard work and commitment to our clients as well as our drive to identify and invest in new and innovative infrastructure opportunities that not only help to power the UK’s transition to a more sustainable economy but supports Britain’s future too.”

The ceremony took place at Grosvenor House Hotel in London on Wednesday 21 February.
